How Refrain A Child From Passing Stools In Pants?

I have a seven year old grandson, that continues to poop in his pants, daily. We have tried positive reinforcers, charts so he can see how many days usually 7 days clean equals a trip to his favorite restruant or a activitie of his choice, stickers for every toilet poop, not sure what else we can do.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...I understand your concern. There are two types here -
1. Primary problem is constipation and due to forceful retaining of stools, there will be fecal soiling of undergarments. This is called Encopresis. Relief of constipation will solve the main problem.
2. There could be incontinent anal sphincter and this refers to a neurological problem.
I suggest you see your pediatrician with these tips and proceed further.
