How Risky Is Smoking In A Person With Bradycardia And Elevated Heart Rate?

I ended up at the hospital two days ago because I noticed my heartbeats were 37 a minute - I was observed for almost one day and discharged with bradychardia ( due to excessive alcohol and little sleep ) - now after this shock I am afraid to smoke. I of course intend to stop smoking but I can´t quit cold turkey but little by litlle. Can I smoke a cigarette now that my heartbeats are 50 a minute or I risk to get a heart attack? Thank you for your patience

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, you should not smoke now onwards.
Bradycardia can be worsened by smoking and this can lead to death.
So better not to take smoking any more.
In my opinion, you should enroll in rehabilitation center where counseling and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) are done.
You will need nicotine chewing gums, lozenges, patch etc for easy quitting.
Don't worry, you will be alright once you quit smoking.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
