How Safe Is Taking Ibugesic For Breathing Problems Due To Enlarged Tonsils?
Hi my daughter has been expericing fever for the past three days and when i contacted my doctor i was informed that her tonsils is enlargened which is causing her breathing problems. The doctor recomended lice ibugesic. Is this appropirate for her, she is one year and ten months.
If the child is having Asthma or any other breathing related disorders, it is always wiser to avoid NSAID's such as ibuprofen. These medicines can constrict the airways and worsen the breathing problems. If there are no such complaints before, then you can safely use ibuprofen even in the children less than 2 years.
Although ibugesic is safe in a child but it is not the treatment for tonsillitis and you should meet your doctor and consider starting an antibiotic for the same.Ibugesic will only reduce the pain but will not treat the infection. Please meet your ent doctor.
Thanks
