my wife she is hypertensive she had 4 c/s the ist c/s don n 1993 due to preeclamcia then in 1996 she was pregnent again they did c/s from 1996 continious she is hypertensive till today from 1996 she was taking tenormin [betablocker50mgod] upto 2005 then another doctor prescribed telmisortin 40mg for four years then again they changed tab due uncontrlled bp tey give olmesartin 40mg with revotril 0.5mg now from one year she is having breathlessness if se walk upstairs i did lipid profile,its normal. Her body weight is 58kg and height 5.2. i have done kft. urea and creatine.its normal.kindly prescribe good medicine. Thanking you.
Thanks for contacting HCM. You have not mentioned whether your wife's BP is under control with olmesartan. Olmesartan is a good drug and belongs to same group of medicines as telmesartan. Breathlessness on exertion is a sign of cardiac disease. I would suggest following investigations for her- 1. BP measurement 2. E.C.G. 3. TMT 4. Cardiac colour doppler. Depending on the results of the above tests medicines can be prescribed or she may be advised to undergo coronary angiography. Regards
