How Safe Is Taking Benadryl For Diaper Rash?

I had CT yesterday on my pelvis to check out 2 hernias...I have a reaction to the dye used..It was isovue 370 80cc..My Dr. gave pretisome 3 tabs 50mg +1 Benadrlyn 50 mg before the CT because I have had a reaction 2 other occasions. A 11 pm last nite I developed the same previous reaction...like a really bad diaper rash..cont. to get a brighter red & very uncomfortable..Dr. out until tomorrow at 9:30 \a.m. Office nurse said to take more benadryl took 50mg at 2;15 PM NOW IT IS 4:OOPM no difference..What else can I do?

Hi.
As per your case history of diaper rash.
My treatment advice is -
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. It is completely safe to take benadryl. So continue it in prescribed dose.
3. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on affected skin.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
