How Safe Is To Take Loperamide Hydrochloride When On Oral Contraceptive Pills?

Hi, I am using oral contraceptive pill (Ovral*l brand) that comprise of levonorgestrel I.P. 0.15mg and ethinyloestradiol I.P. 0.03 mg. I have diarrhea since today morning so I purchased loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg tablets. I want to know if it is safe to consume the loperamide hcl tablets while using the oral contraceptive pills. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You are using oral contraceptive pills ovral. You can take loperamide with that. That is safe. Loperamide should not be taken in infective diarrhoea. It will lengthen the duration of illness and may leads to paralytic ileus. So consult your doctor before use.
