How Serious Could Painful Shin With Indentation After An Injury Be?

Took a blow to my shin and aside from being painful there is a noticeable depression at the impact site (1/4 deep and 1 long). Leg is still bruised and sore. Anything I should have checked out or should I give it a few days. Not painful to stand but feel it when I walk.

Hi,

Check for active toe movements and active flexion, extension movements at knee joint. If any restriction is present, consult an orthopedist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parkavi Gunasekaran, General & Family Physician
