How Should I Manage Gas In The Colon When Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer?
Hello, my husband is being treated for prostate cancer via radiation. At the time of treatment is needs to have approx. 20oz. of water in his bladder and an empty colon. The colon part seems to be the problem. He has gas - now taking GasX, eats Greek Yogurt and drinks chicken broth. Any other recommendations?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Radiation and chemotherapy can cause gastritis and related problems. You can try antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole which bare quite effective for radiation induced gastritis. Also try Sucralfate syrup which act as a barrier and provide symptomatic relief. Also avoid hot and spicy food stuff.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
