Hi, my sister is suffering from tb. doctor gave her monoto 4 tablet. which has two tablets, one is red and another one is green. which one should be used first red or green. Medical store people says use green before food and red after food. doctor says red before food and green after food. I am confused.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Ideally, anti tubercular drugs should be taken on empty stomach. But gastritis and vomiting are common side effects of these drugs. So we prescribe these drugs after food. So in my opinion, she should take both the tablets on empty stomach before food. If she tolerate these drugs (no vomiting or no gastritis) then continue these tablets on empty stomach. But if she develops side effects then take green tablet before food and red tablet after food. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your sister. Thanks.
