How Should A Popping Sensation And Soreness In The Throat Be Treated?

I was lifting and moving a tall box weighing about 45 lbs this morning --from my house out to my car. I felt a pop sensation in my throat, like where my vocal cords are, while carrying the box. It happened a few times while holding up the box.My voice seems okay, but my voice box part of my neck/throat area is sore with a lump type of feeling. It has gotten more sore as the day has progressed. I will probably put ice on my neck and drink ice cold beverages when I get home this evening because it feels like something I should ice. What are your thoughts? -Robin

Hello. Welcome to hcm.
The voice sensation in thoat while carrying weights might be the pressure in your lungs which leaks. It might be normal
If the soreness or pain starts, you should consult your ENT specialist who will do a videolaryngoscopy to see for any local damage of your vocal cords
All the best
