How Should Acute Depression Made Worse By Cannabis Be Treated?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Hi my partner is suffering with depression, she is on 40 mil catalpram and has been for 3 - 4 months we have had bereavement and her symptoms are becoming more alarming, very up and down, very nasty about good friend she is now saying she no longer needs the tablets.
She is also a long term cannabis user but in her eyes it is what is helping her and no one can make her see it is doing the opposite.
I went through your details. The depressive episodes you are mentioning here could not be due to bereaveement or the stress related to it. It could be because of the cannabis related. Substance abuse is a problem here and it can cause long term depressive disorder. The usual treatment for depressive disorder is a combination of pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and relaxation techniques. Please understand and consult a psychiatrist for de-addiction treatment.
