How Should Heart Attacks With Stent Blockage Be Treated?
My uncle had a heart attack couple yrs ago and a stent was put in, he has now had another one small but still a heart attack.. The doctors r telling him the stent is now blocked also and there is nothing they can do for him...his main artery is in great condition...one of my boss' from work was told his stent was blocked and had replacement surgery...im confused and really need some info on this matter is there anything you can tell me or point me in the right direction to get info>>> please help
After stent blockage there are three option: 1 to put another stent 2 open heart surgery 3 medical treatment The strategy depends on results of angiography. If your doctor has told you they cannot intervene it is possible that another stent and open heart surgery were not good option for him, in this case he should continue take medications. Anyway you can ask your doctor to explain you more detailed why they have chosen that particular strategy, or you can send us his angiography results.
Hope I could help you
