How Should Heavy Bleeding After Removing The Mirena Coil Be Managed?
HI. I have been treated by Mirena coil because of fibroids found in my womb, it was a huge mistake and the Mirena has been removed.after that I had extremely heavy bleeding and two times in an emergency. my GP prescribed norethisterone for 20 days and 5 days break, and this is for two months.do you think this is right?
You have fibroids. Mirena was removed after that you had heavy bleeding. You were prescribed Norethindrone for two months. Norethindrone is used to treat menstrual disorders, fibroid, endometriosis, or abnormal vaginal bleeding caused by a hormone imbalance. A progestin-releasing IUD provides symptomatic relief only and doesn't shrink fibroids or make them disappear.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Gynae, get USG (uterus) done to detect fibroid, endometriosis, etc. If fibroid is detected, it will be treated with medications like Tranexamic acid (Lysteda), gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, etc.

Get treated at the earliest. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
