How Should Pneumonia And Asthma With Breathlessness Be Effectively Treated?
My 15 year old son has walking pneumonia 11 weeks ago. Was given antibiotics and symthoms were gone within a week. However he has asthma. He plays on a elite soccer team all year round. still after 11 weeks he is out of breath after 20 minutes of play. He usually plays 80 minutes straight. Nis it his asthma or the pneumonia. The ped said it would take up to 6 months for full recovery. His pulmonary doctor just put him on prednisone. he thinks it is his asthma. I am confused
Hi, your main problem is your son remains out of breath for a while after certain time play. Now understand , he had pneumonia 11 weeks ago with full treatment, pneumonia can be cured with good antibiotics nowadays so it should not be the problem.now asthma, if your pulmonologist is giving prednisolone thinking that it is asthma.then asthma need to be confirmed again becuz steroid alone won't be the effective treatment there are also other drugs which can help in asthmatic attacks.your sons asthma needs to be confirmed again
