Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Should Swelling At The Calf And Pain On The Right Side Of My Right Knee Be Treated After Hurting My Leg?
I was running and my leg gave out and bent. I thought that the ankle was the only thing hurt, but now the calf is swollen and I have pain on the right side of my right knee. The pain also radiates through my calf and up my Achilles when the heel is pressed down. What do you think I did?
It seems to be a sprained muscle or ligament. For this reason, I recommend consulting with an orthopedist for a physical exam and performing a joint X-ray study. Immobilization may be needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
