How Should Waist Black Marks With Itching Be Treated?

i seem to have some black marks on my waist.. initially it was itchy and then i applied some ointment on it; post which the itchiness is gone but it has left some back marks across different places on my waist.
I was planning to visit a skin specialist yesterday but couldnt get an appointment. what should be my immedeate steps?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There seems to be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in that area. Chronic scratching causes the skin to become thickened and dark. I suggest you to use a moisturizer regularly in that area. In addition to that you may use a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g mometasone furoate 0.1% for a few days, to help lighten the area. It is a prescription cream.
