How Soon Can HIV Infection Be Diagnosed After Possible Exposure?
I am male. Two years ago I was sexually active inside 3 months before my hiv test. 3 months before I received blowjob with ejaculation in mouth. 2 months before the test I performed oral on female and received blowjob and handjob. Ejaculation on handjob. 1 and a half month before I tried anal sex on female and it slipped into vagina two times but the condoms broke both times so we switched to oral with ejaculation outside of mouth. The condoms broke only when inserting both times so I wasn t inside for more than few seconds. 25 days before test I received blowjob with ejaculation outside. 12 days I had long vagina sex and few seconds anal with condom. It did not break and there was no ejaculation. Aftet that I received job offer in a gulf country where I was tested 12 days after my last risk. I was tested using combo test and it came negative. The next day that is the 13th day after possible exposure I was tested again at government clinic but they don t give results or call if everything is okay. I didn t think of it before but now I am wondering if it was too early for the tests.
I must tell you that HIV remains inactive in the body for a long time that could vary from days to years, but the ELISA test which commonly done helps to detect the antibodies against it, so the result of it should be taken six months apart. But for early diagnosis, we can opt for a PCR test, which will tell the result more confidently. But as your history states, your test was done on appropriate time but the second test should be repeated after six months.
