I recently tested positive for HIV at planned parenthood. The first test (finger prick) came back reactive so they drew blood work the same day, sent it into the lab and a few days later those results also came back positive. I am completely shocked as I have had no symptoms. I have an appointment with an HIV specialist but it isn t until a month from now. Will I be ok until then or do I need to get treatment going sooner then that? I am a 27 year old female.

Hello,
Symptoms depend on the viral load and CD4 count. If CD4 count decreases, opportunistic infections will come. Please check for CD4 count.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
