How To Avoid Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex?

Dear Doctor! I had unprotected sex with my gf on 18th January 2014 but didn t cum inside her; however my precum surely pass into her. The reason I took this risk that I presumed I will buy i-pill but I was unaware that EMC are banned. The chemist suggested Mensovit Plus and she took 2 pills in 24 hours as of now. Please guide what can be the best approach to avoid pregnancy? Thank you very much! - Manoj Singh

Hello,

Emergency Pill is the BEST to prevent unwanted pregnancy at this stage and it should be taken within first 72 hrs of unprotected sex (mainly within 24 hrs).

Mensovit Plus helps to induce period in absence of pregnancy and doesn't prevent unwanted pregnancy.

If she doesn't take emergency pill within 72 hrs, then she has to wait for next coming period and if it is delayed more than 1 week, one home pregnancy test is required to confirm pregnancy.
