How To Bring Down Very High Blood Pressure When On Medication?

Hi, my father is 90 years old. He has just taken his blood pressure and has a reading of 209/63. He had a lie down and it has dropped back to about 190. What should I do when it goes up so high? He is on medication for it, is there anything else that would bring it down quickly or should he go to a Doctor or hospital?
