Hi, I am trying to conceive and will have to go in for a IUI-D. I want to know what is the medication I should start taking from Day 2 of my cycle to get min 2 eggs. Also what mediaction I should take for iron and folic. Are All 9 tablets sufficient?
Folic acid is needed for baby's brain growth and should be started before you plan for pregnancy and must continue in first 3 months of pregnancy. Please remember, what medicines you require for IUI, depends on many factors. All women may not respond to the same medicine. We need to know your ovarian condition, AMH level and AFC.
The medicine also depends on the age. At the same time, success of IUI increases if we add gonadotrophin injection along with oral tablets, because it increases the number of eggs available at the time of IUI. At the same time it is important to do TVS follicular study to know the exact timing of IUI and to see your response to the medicines. If you take medicines without consulting doctor, there may be serious risks like OHSS. Therefore, please take medicines only after being checked by a doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
