How To Confirm Abortion?

hi ,doctor i was 4 weeks pregnant and i took mife prin first dose on 5th nov and second one yesterday ,accordingly bleeding was started and now the bleeding is like the normal menstural..so is everything ok..?and how can i know that the foetus is aborted..?plz suggest..?

Hello dear,
I understand your concern.
In my opinion the bleeding might continue for week to 15 days.
The bleeding will be heavy initially for 3-4 days and later on it might be similar to menstruation.
But presence of heavy and prolonged bleeding more than 15 days or presence of irregular bleeding might suggest incomplete abortion.
I suggest you to get an ultrasound done on 14 th day after starting of bleeding to ensure for complete abortion.
Ultrasound is confirmatory for the diagnosis of completion of abortion.
I suggest you to take abortion pills only under doctor supervision as they are associated with incomplete abortion,heavy bleeding etc.
Your history suggests the abortion is going on and bleeding like menstruation is normal.
Nothing to worry.
