On sunday March 27th i started my birth control packet one week late as well as finished some antiobiotics. On monday I had sexual intercourse that was uprotected by force. On Wedsday i recieved the emergency contraceptive pill next choice over the counter. I took it as directed on the box which stated twelve hours apart and continued to take my regular birth control pills...did i catch my sexual incident in a good time to not be pregnant?
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Starting the birth control pills one week late greatly reduces the contraceptive efficacy, and can cause pregnancy by an unprotected intercourse. However, since you have taken emergency contraceptive pill within stipulated time and as directed, then the chances of pregnancy are neglogible. Hope you found the answer helpful.
