From the available description it appears that your partner is dependent on tobacco and denies for same. Either he is not aware of complications of gutka chewing or not properly motivated to quit this habit. It is absolutely necessary to meet a physician for substance abuse. He will guide him to quit this bad habit. There are medications available for same and some patients may be helped with use of special kind of psychotherapy.
You can ask him to company you to doctor's office saying that consultant will tell you that what he is saying is not correct. Saying nothing happens with gutka is underestimation of problem and it is associated with number of complication from gastritis to various forms of cancer.
