my mom was supposed to fast for 12 hours before a scan appt. and instead fasted for 20. she went to her appt and they said her blood sugar level was too high at 293. She was hungry from fasting, so went out to eat and immediately came home and threw it up, and now her blood sugar is at 320. Is this immediately dangerous? What can be done to help her (food-wise)?
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Dear Sir/Mam, the blood sugar levels you have mentioned are high. Though immediately not dangerous, it is not safe also. better is to control blood sugar levels with insulin if already on medication. Or you can try medication consulting local treating doctor. Food wise nothing much to do now as already she is in fasting for more than 20hrs.
Hope this guides you. Thank you. Wishing you good health. Dr Phanindra Dulipala. Diabetologist.
