How To Control Type 2 Diabetes Mediated Elevated Blood Sugar?

Hi I have ben diagnoised with type 2 diabetise...My doctor an I have been working to bring my sugar under control. Recently my physician has changed and he is prescribing medicines that did not work in the past, and has caused some horrible side effects for me. I do not trust his decisions for my health and wonder weather he has my best health at heart. What shall I do because I have decided not to take the medicines he has prescribed.

dear friend,
as long as management for type 2 diabetes mellitus is concerned it depends on your stage of diabetes it can be managed initially with diet control and weight loss regime since the main cause is insulin resistance because of obesity. so dietry regime and weight loss is indeed the primary regime for the management of diabetes however if you have lost more than 75% beta cells in pancreas unfortunately you will have to be on medicines aswell regardless of what your doctor prescribed there are safer regimes like combination of dpp4 inhibitors and metformin or sulphonyl ureas. for weight loss yes you can do following things
replace your milk with skimmed milk
sugar with splenda sweetner
use olive or canola oil
take brown bread with 2 white of boiled eggs in breakfast
have one fruit a day around 11am preferably apple, banana etc
take boiled vegetables or salad in lunch u can have boiled chicken or use fat free salad toppings for taste
have tea around preferably black tea at 5pm
and dinner at 7pm minimal normal food you have in routine life

things to avoid are rice, meat, sweets, any drinks, juices etc

i would advise you to consult your endocrinologist and ask him to set your regime as i believe medicines are indeed important in your case.

your fasting sugars should remain 60-110 mg/dl
your random sugars should remain 80-140 mg/dl

and hbA1c should be less than 7

i hope my answer helps you
thanks
regards
