How To Cure ADHD In Kids?

A licensed Therapist has said my son shows signs of ADHD, from what i can see this is true. Im having trouble with school realizing that its a process can't get him on meds right away. I thought Behavioral therapy would help instead of meds. I have appt to get him tested, but is there anything i can do with home remedies to help? My husband is overseas and Im at a loss of what to do to help right now.

Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion you may try the following behavioural modifications at home.
1. organize for him. ADHD children do much better if their day is organized for them with prior information to them about what needs to be done with list and visual clue.
2. rewards and consequences. Pre determine the rewards which he will get for good behaviour and consequences like withholding the privileges for bad behaviour and implement it.
3. ADHD children are master negotiators. Do not give in to their pestering. Stick to your decision.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you
