hi,
Welcome to health care magic , and thanks for posting your query . I understand your concern.
An episode of throwing up blood and an uncontrollable cough needs evaluation, normally if you have cough (though severe) wont make you throw up blood Especially when it is just a 2 day long history.
Hence i suspect you to be having an underlying lung pathology which is the causing the bleed . I suggest you to get routine blood investigations done, a Chest Xray, and sputum examination .
Your past history of similar incidents in the past would have been helpful to narrow down the possibilities. Also history on whether your cough is productive or
dry cough should have been mentioned.
Meanwhile consult a physician and
ENT specialist who will be able to do a
laryngoscopy to find causes for the bleed.
For temporary relief from cough you can consider taking suppressant with
dextromethorphan .
Losenges will sooth your throat and bring some relief too.
Ice-
cold water/ ice chips can cause more pain, try taking luke warm water instead. Reduce oily/ spicy food, avoid
smoking if you do smoke.
Hope this helps and answers your question satisfactorily.
Write back to me if you need further assistance.
Wish you a speedy recovery and good health.
