My 4 year old stuck a thermometer in my 1 year old son's ear, it was bleeding, then appeared to stop. He just woke up from his nap and his ear had dried blood in it. I spoke with his doctor earlier and said just to watch him, but it was obviously still bleeding should he be seen?
in my opinion you should not clean his ear, no ear drops or anything should be instilled in ear, it should be kept dry. keep affected ear downward to get blood drain away itself. if bleeding is nlt stopping on its own, you must see a ENT specialist nearby. bleeding is due to mucosal tear . tympanic membrane status should be examined.
