I am 20 years old and I keep getting blood blisters on my waistline, most likely from clothing friction, but it looks like a very large rash now and there s blood on my clothes. The only thing I can wear that doesn t irritate the rash is just dresses and clothes that do not touch my middle. What is this and what can I do to prevent more blisters?
It seems you are having bacterial infection of hair roots called folliculitis. Hair in area of waistline are prone for infection as they are constantly exposed to shearing friction and humid environment.
I would suggest you a week long course of oral antibiotic like cefadroxil and clavulanic acid combination and application of mupirocin cream twice a day over affected areas.
Use antibacterial triclosan based soap for rinsing those areas.
Avoid tight clothes and undergarments and maintain hygiene.
Hope this will take care of your issue. Wish you best of health. Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda M.D Dermatology
