Hello! Its probably nothing, but about 45 minutes ago I was scratching an itch on my right wrist. I glanced down casually and noticed a huge swollen vein . . . maybe 1/2 in diameter (or a bit less), and about 2 inches long --right on the underside of my wrist where the arm joins to the hand. Right now its sort of a faded, bruised swelling with a dull achiness when I touch it. Just wondered if it can wait until tomorrow to be seen, because I have something important to go to this evening. I work in a hospital, so tomorrow would be ideal. Just thought I d try to get some idea of what it is.
Hi. As per your case history you are having urticarial rash. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
