How To Cure Cold And Cough With Yellow Mucous
hi my daughter 3yrs old suffers with cold and cough past three wks and in nebulizer xopenex and budisonide.cough is reduced but from nose yellow mucus not stopped .past one month she have this.last wk i tuk her to dr.she gave amoxilin for 10days twice daily 5.5ml/400mg.now she is in 8th day of antibiotic.but still yellow mucus is coming from her nose..am putting saline drops in her nose.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold and cough with yellow mucous which can occur probably due to untreated upper respiratory tract infection and due to lowered immunity of body. Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of outside of food. You should apply mist humidifiers in room. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order swab test , blood test , nasal endoscopy to rule out condition like nasal polyp and CT scan of sinus. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics such as amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with mucolytic agent and decongestant. For now take steam inhalation and do warm saline gargles and apply warm compresses to nose .
