How To Cure Hypo And Hyper Pigmentation?

Hi Doctor, I got dsychromia which occurred due to Thermal Burns. It was couple of weeks back and after the skin got peeled it is mix of hypo pigmentation and hyper pigmentation. How long does it take for the skin to become normal. Specially with the hypo pigmentation(White with Light Pink). Thanks

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Post-inflammatory hypo and hyper-pigmentation after a burn/scald can be improved with a moderately potent topical steroid like fluticasone.

I usually ask my patients of post-inflammatory hypopigmentation to apply flutivate twice daily for 2-4 week. Pigmentation first appears around the hair follicles and appears as dots of pigment against a back ground of dyspigmentation. Gradually the pigment spreads from the dots and covers the entire area.
