Hello You are having pleural effusion with pain during breathing ( deep ) and taking antibiotics with prednisolone . You didn t mention the cause of pleaural effusion , these are . 1 tuberculosis , 2 Carcinoma ( cancer ) 3 Traumatic 4 Sterile fluid 5 Innominate reason. Usually tuberculosis is the main reason of pleural effusion ,but you didn t mention the type of treatment and reason of pleaural effusion , so it is very difficult to say , why are you having pain during deep breathing? When such patient visit my clinic I prescribe them ANTI TUBERCULAR treatment + pantaloc-D + levofloxacin 750 mg . Usually patient respond on day one and pain subsides within 3-5 days . If fluid amount is 100 ml , aspiration ( tapping ) is necessary in tubercular effusion. I usually don t like to prescribe prednisolone . In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist ( 2nd ) and get his opinion. Good luck.
