How To Cure Swelling And Discomfort On Left Side Of Throat?

The left side of my throat has been swollen and sore for over a month. It is neither terribly swollen or the discomfort prevents me from going about my normal activities. I think this area is called the palataglossal fold. I still have my tonsils and they are not swollen. Is this something I should go see my doctor about?

it is acute infection of pharynx.
at times only one tonsil u can see in case of peritonsillitis.
pls start this medication as below
Tab AUGMENTIN 625mg twice daily for 5days.
Tab SINAREST twice daily for 5 days.
Salt water gargling thrice daily for 5 days.
Drink plenty of water
