How To Cure Swollen Tonsils?

I was at the doctor 4weeks ago with swollen glands and he told me to gargle warm salt and water and take some paracetamol! It just became worse and I had to go back and he told me I had tonsillitis and gave me a 10day prescription of penicillin V. I finished this on Friday and it is only Tuesday and my tonsils are yet again swollen and have white dots all over them. Should I go back to the doctor again or what is the best thing to do?

Hi welcome to HCM...

You have acute tonsillitis infection ...

Mostly it is due to gram positive cocci , streptococci , so penicillin given....

If still after completing course , no improvement than further work up done with throat swab and send for culture. ...
According to culture report further treatment needed

Meanwhile avoid spicy irritant foods ...
Avoid excess fried food ....
Drink more water ....

Salt water gargles continued ....
