How To Cure The Condition Of Heart Murmur?

Hi my daughter was diagnosed with a slight heart murmur at birth. She has had a follow up appointment with the cardiologist and had an echo done and a scan of her heart. The doctor was happy with her and said its only slightly there and she is not worried at all about her. We go back in October for another check up. However we fly to spain next saturdayand I ve just thought I hope she is ok to fly?

Hi welcome to HCM
I understand your query and concern.
Murmurs can be functional or organic.Since all her reports are normal or it could be mild shunt murmur. So do not worry. She can fly but monitor her blood pressure and 2 dimensional echcardiogram of her heart before journey. If she has symptoms like shortness of breath, bluish discoloration of fingers or toes, weakness, dizziness then immediately report to your doctor.Continue her medication as suggested by your doctor.A 24 holter EKG will help to evaluate the significance and severity of murmurs.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.Post your further queries if any.Thankyou
