I've had a sore throat for a few weeks - my Dr gave me some penacillin which didn't help, but then I started to get cold symptoms with a stuffy nose, occasional headache and the feeling of mucus in the throat. I went back to the Dr and she said my throat looked ok and she felt my neck and said I probably had a virus which was taking a long time to shake off because I'm going through an extremely stressful time at the moment. I still have a throat problem - it feels irritated rather than painful, and I bring up some white coloured mucus each morning. I suffer from health anxiety, and also had glandular fever 5 years ago, which took until last year to disappear but has left me with fatigue. Could I have throat cancer? I'm 47, female, never smoked but drink quite a lot of wine.
