How To Cure Tmj And Clicking Jaws ?
hello doctor . i am 20 years old female. once i was having food and i opened my mouth very wide. since then whenever i yawn my jaw clicks. i searched alot on net and found it was tmj syndrome. could you please tell how to treat it. it doesnt pain. but the clicks are really disturbing. am i in danger.thanks

tmj means temporo mandibular joint.
it may be possible that it displace from it normal site
so u may feel the click
it is very common and not dangerous one
it will be okay itself

Welcome to HCM.
What you are experiencing is the Temporomandibular joint disorder. In this condition when the mouth is opened wide, the joint (which is a ball and socket joint) tends to dislocate and this dislocation produces the click sound. Most of the time it corrects itself when one attempts to close the mouth. Sometimes the dislocation may not correct itself, leading to a condition called lock Jaw, which needs to be manually corrected by an orthopedic surgeon.
You should be aware of this and always be careful not to open your mouth too wide or attempt to bite on a firm edible fruit which is quite large such as pears, raw mango etc. and should be cautious while yawning, all these things can trigger lock jaw.
