How To Decrease The Chances Of Coccygeal Subluxation While Giving Birth?
I have experienced coccygeal subluxations whilst giving birth twice. It took 12 months for the pain to subside to mild discomfort with my last baby. I am now pregnant again, I am concerned with quality of life post next delivery. I wish to give birth naturally, is there any way I could decrease the risk of injury again?
Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1 ) First of all do not panic.
2 ) I will suggest you to perform Kegelle exercise at least twice a day from now onwards. It involves contracting and relaxing the muscles around your vagina and anus. This will help you at the time of delivery.
3 ) At the time of delivery if a generous episiotomy is taken and baby delivery is assisted by vaccume, and proper perineal support is given then you can have safe delivery vaginally.
4 ) I'd suggest that if your doctor feels that delivering the baby vaginally will be harmful and will lead to coccyxinjury , he or she might suggest you to get C Section done.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
