How To Differentiate Between Chest Pain Due To Gas Or Heart Attack?

I had really bad pain in my chest that went to my back and into my jaws. I got up and got rid of gas and coughed and felt better. Laid back down and it happened again. I got up and burped and felt better. How do I know if this is gas or a heart attack?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of having pain in the chest and passing of the burp and feeling better.
The pain was in the chest that referred to the back and the jaw.
Although the symptoms of heart attack and gas scan mimic many a times, you still have to rush to the ER/Hospital and have urgent EKG and cardiac check up a heart attack is a potentially serious matter.
It is practically dangerous to think this to be due to gas and waste precious time of life-saving importance.
I hope this answer guides you.
