How To Extract A Piece Of Food Stuck In The Sinus?
I think that I have a small piece of food stuck in my sinus, it does not effect my breathing, but is uncomfortable and has been stuck for about 24 hours. I have tried to remove it by blowing my nose and using a neti pot (salt water rinse). What else can it do to remove it, and should I worry about it?
Hello there, Yes you need to get it removed if you are sure that there is a foreign particle stuck in your sinus. If not removed it could lead to infections and even erode the bone and cause more damage. So please visit an ENT specialist who can examine and try to visualise the food piece and suggest some X-ray or CT to know the exact place of the foreign body if required,so that it can be removed as soon as possible. You blowing the nose may inadvertently push the piece further in a spot making it difficult to remove. So do not panic and just visit your doctor who can remove it easily. Hope this helps.Take care.
