Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was given a shot of 120 mg of Depo-Medrol for my allergies and wondered how I can flush it out of my system as fast as possible I am having some adverse side affects. Only had this one shot 3 days ago. I have slightly swollen eye lids and face with a numbness feeling and an over medicated feeling.
Depo-medrol has a very long half life and remains in the system for much longer than other steroids. A single im dose 0f 120 mg may remain in your system for up to 28 days. Side effects will resolve only after the drug is out of your system. In the mean time you can take fexofenadine 180 mg once daily for the allergic reaction that has been caused by depo medrol.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care, Dr.Verma
