How To Get Rid Of Bipolar Disorder?

So I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, but I don t think I have that. I don t know what I have. I am 18 and can t keep down a job, drive, go to school, or hang out with friends/family. I just lay In bed all day. I used to see a therapist and psychiatrist but I stopped, they don t help. Basically I have weird thinking. Like I don t sleep at night, I m afraid people are going to break into our house and Kill me. I know that people are going to kill me, I m scared. When I m alone, I hear voices. In a way I know they may not be real, like my head is making them up. I am always confused and can t really communicate anymore or show emotion. But i am depressed and want to die. I don t know what to do. I don t think people will believe me. So no one knows. But my parents think I m weird. I m so lost right now.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hello,,, i can understand your concern, but u are explaining the symptoms which are of any severe psychotic illness...i just want to ask you a question that which kind of symptoms started first, like whether your fearfullness, hearing of voices or depression or manic symptoms..depending on the first symptoms diagnosed is made...

at present, what u are explaining is picture of psychotic illness and u shud take medications like antipsychotics which will benefit u in your fearfullness about someone will break into your house and try to kill you, hearing of voices etc...
the meds u can take are:
tablet haloperidol [5mg] three times a day, u shud take another medication to prevent the side effect of haloperiol, like tab.pacitane [2mg] twice daily...u shud take these meds for atleast 1mnth and go for followup to your psychiatrist and get advice for further treatment and psychotherapy..

u can also take risperidone but it will cause hyperprolactinemia which is not good for a female of 18 years
u can also take olanzapine but it will cause sedation and weight gain which is a drawback..

haloperidol itself can cause neurological side effects but for that reason i have suggested u a anticholinergic medication to prevent those side effects..

go for proper evaluation of your symptoms,,but as per your symptoms u have explained these meds will surely benefit u...
i hope this advice will be helpful, best luck
