Hi - I have a small bruise on my upper arm which has been persistent for over 2 weeks now - it reduced in intensity but has not completely gone yet - I had applied Thrombophob cream which caused it inflame and swell - now that has gone down but the bruise is still there - how do I get rid of it
Since you have bruise since 2 weeks protect it from sun rays & infection. Deficiency of Vitamin C & K may cause easy bruising. With age skin becomes thinner & bruiser may occur more easily. Apply an ice pack to reduce swelling & inflammations.
Take acetaminophen (Tylenol) for relieve. Wear protective shin guards to avoid any injury. If there is swelling or pain get physically examined by a PCP.
The doctor may want to get an X-ray done to rule out broken bones, have blood tests done to evaluate any bleeding disorder. Get treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nupur K,
