Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Almost a month ago during soccer training we were scrimmaging and another players knew went into my shin area. She missed my shin guard and hit me on the tissue or whatever that is around the shin bone. It left a dent like thing on my shin along with a nasty bruise. The pain and dent still haven t gone away. Any suggestions as to what it might be? Anything serious?
Due to blunt injury there can be hematoma collection .The bleeding that occurs result in hematoma collection. Over a period of time, as hematoma resolves it cause local skin symptoms around the hematoma.
Continue ice application, and thrombhophobe ointment may help and take rest.
As you have symptoms since many months I will advise you to further investigate like MRI, and Bone scan. There is possibility of sub acute infection in hematoma collection. Take precaution to avoid infection around hematoma.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
