Thanks, Doc. I have been diagnosed as having eczema. For 3 years now I ve been putting up with intense itching. I have been prescribed with Clobetasol that gives me very temporary relief. How can I get rid of such terrible itching? My skin has discolored due to scratching. I ve seen a number of dermatologists & allergists. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
Hi. As per your case history of eczema, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Continue clobetasaol cream application twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
