Hi and welcome to HCM You seem to be suffering from severe seborrheic dermatitis, possibly complicated with a fungal infection of the scalp. This causes oily, flaky itchy scalp with bumps and scabs. Infection occurs due to the oily scalp and can spread. In your case, The long standing skin infection and scarring maybe causing the air in the area to fall. Also do rule out whether scalp psoriasis is a possible diagnosis. Tgel shampoo will help with itching and laking but will not help the infection or underlying cause. I would advise a antifungal based shampoo to cover both, such as Salisia-KT shampoo, twice a week. Consult a dermatologist to test the area for fungal infection. Skin biopsy maybe required. You may then apply a steroid based cream and tablets as advised to control severe symptoms. Dont apply any styling gels/products or oil for long periods. Hope this helps.
