How To Get Rid Of Itchy Throat?

I woke up this morning with an itchy throat which causes me to cough. It produces no mucus and I am pretty sure its not a cold since there are no other simptoms. My mother thinks it is caused by my workouts which cause me to sweat a lot, she says that the sweat is drying causing me to get sick. I don t agree with her and think this could be something like allergies or maybe a type of infection. Please help!
