How To Get Rid Of Numbness In Hand?

I punched a wall about 5 hours ago and I have had Ice on it since then but it is really hard to move it s purple and rarther swolen, it feels numb but I don t know if that s from the ice, I even found it hard to hold a glass, it s my right hand so I can t do much without that, any advise?

thank-you for providing the brief history of you.

A thorough musculoskeletal assessment is advised.

As you have applied the ice, the numbness is because of it. Since due to icing, the sensory pathways gets disturbed and leads to numbness. Also, since you punched the wall, there might be some small injuries to the soft tissues leading to pain and inflammation.

Incase the pain, swelling and numbness don't subside in 48 hours you need to take an x-ray to see if any bony injury is happened.

Usually, within 48 hours the swelling and numbness subsides.

If any fracture is noticed on a x-ray then you need treatment accordingly.
